Professional teeth whitening is one of the easiest and most affordable ways to transform your smile. Dr. Irene Theodore offers two types of teeth whitening in her Chicago dental office: Opalescence Boost Teeth Whitening for in-office treatment and custom trays or prescription strength whitening strips for at-home treatment.

How Does Tooth Whitening Work

With the Opalescence Boost whitening system, a 40% hydrogen peroxide formula penetrates the tooth enamel to break apart discolored molecules. As the oxygen molecules spread, the tooth whitens, leaving you with a whiter, brighter smile. The Opalescence tooth whitening system is different from other popular in-office bleaching methods. First, the active ingredients in Opalescence Boost are chemically activated so there is no light required for whitening. The whitening gel also contains PF (potassium nitrate and fluoride), which has been shown to reduce tooth sensitivity, a common side effect of tooth whitening. We also know that fluoride helps strengthen tooth enamel and prevent decay, adding to the advantages of the Opalescence Boost system.

Sheer White Tooth Whitening Strips
